God's word: Our Weapon of Choice

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT messages we can take from the biblical account of temptation of Jesus, is important of knowing God’s word and put it to use when temptation comes knocking at your doors.

Jesus had spent His entire life learning and internalizing the word of God, and when the Spirit led Him into the wilderness, He was able to answer each one of them with; “It is written…”He had studied and meditated for so long on truths of God’s word.

Even in the best of our lives, we can be tempted physically, mentally and emotionally. The best way to fight these temptations is to memories scriptures and has it ready when temptations present themselves.

Memorize verses such as, “Flee also youthful lists; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart” That way, when you are tempted by lust, the Holy Spirit will bring to your mind those verses that you have committed to memory, and H e will remind you of the truth so that you can flee.

That's My King Dr. S.M. Lockridge - [OFFICIAL]

When I am Attack by the Enemy

Lord, I praise You as my Deliverer and you that You will deliver me from my enemies. I know that we not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against power, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. You will lift me above those who rise against me and deliver me from the violent forces that oppose me. Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; make Your way straight before my face. I give thanks to you, Lord, and sing praises to You always lead us in triumph in Christ.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness if from Me, says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17

Because He Has Given Me His Holy Spirit

Lord, I worship You and praise You and thank You for your Holy Spirit in my life. Thank You, Jesus, for sending me the Comforter and Helper to teach and guide me every day. I praise You for the wisdom, revelation, and knowledge that You impart to me. I love You and the joy You bring into my life. Thank You that I have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. I know that I cannot understand the things of God in my flesh, but I can discern them in my spirit because of You dwelling in me. Thank You, Lord, for the gift of Your Holy Spirit in me.

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:5

Believing It’s Not Over Till It’s Over

My times are in Your hands. I pray that You would give an ever renewing sense of Your purpose for my life. Use me for Your glory as long as I am on this earth. Help me to never be resistant to change, but instead to always be open to new things You want to do in my life. I don’t want to hang on to the old life when You are waiting to make a new beginning. Help me to always be in Your word, in close communication with You, and seeking only the counsel of godly people so that I will never miss Your light shining on the path You have for me.

Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation, on You I wait all the day. Psalm 25:4-5

Obedience

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” Mathew 7:24-25.

Thought for today!

Holiness that’s where I long to be …Lord, your Word says that if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (1John 1:8). I don’t want to deceive myself by not asking you where I am missing the mark you have set for my life. Show me if I’m doing things I should not. Help me to hear your specific instructions to me. Speak to me clearly through Your Word so I will know what’s right and what’s wrong. I don’t want to grieve the Holy Spirit in anything I do. Help me to be ever learning about your ways so I can live in the fullness of your presence and move into all you have for me.

Peace Of Your Soul.

THE CHRISTIAN FAITH is not a bunch of rules and regulations, but rather a dynamic relationship with the living God made possible through the work of Jesus Christ. You are to “love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul” (Job; 11:13). When we fully grasp that fact, we are well on our way to living victoriously in every area of our lives. I have learned that coming to Jesus with open hands is just the first step in a long process of learning from Him and receiving from Him.

Giving Thanks in Times of Trouble

Giving thanks in everything means that you have to ask yourself, “Is God really involved in the details of my life?” Could God possibly want to teach you something through a flat tire? King David expressed the same principle when he wrote, “Save us, O God of our salvation; gather us together, and deliver us from the Gentiles, to give thanks to your holy name, to triumph in your praise.” Those little words express our belief that God knows what He is doing and that He can be trusted.

The Model Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Matthew 6:9-13

Ask and You shall Receive!

In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth; my father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. John 16:23-24

“Anything!” Praise God! “Anything!” That is what our God has promised. He said. I will do IT.” What is this “IT”? This “IT” refers to “anything” we ask our heavenly Father in prayer.

The Word From God!

For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer. For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wrath with thee nor rebuke thee . For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. Isaiah 54:7-10
